Let’s Work together

Palauan Tattoo request form.

I am currently working out of Thousand Cranes Tattoo Studio in San Jose, CA.

If you haven't already, please take a look at my portfolio. Additionally check out my page about Palauan tattoos or my FAQ for information about appointment structure, accessibility, and aftercare.

How it works

Once I have reviewed your request and we have booked your appointment time, I will reach out to set up a virtual meeting.

This virtual meeting will be our working brainstorm session and opportunity to discuss your tattoo idea, personal/family history, and motivation for your tattoo.

After our meeting, I begin researching and finding additional context that we can use to inform your tattoo design. I may follow up with you prior to your appointment to discuss possible themes and patterns.

On the day of your appointment, we may use a combination of stencil and “free hand” drawing to compose your design. Most frequently, I will share a rough concept before the appointment; but unlike other tattoo processes, I do not provide full sketches in advance as most of the design comes from the collaborative process of working together on the day of.

Can I get Tapped?

Yes! I am currently offering tattoos through a traditional tapping method. As this is a newer practice for me, my pricing and process is still developing. If you are interested in receiving tapping as part of your appointment, please let me know and we can discuss this added element.

For sanitary purposes, I make a custom tool for each client that will be retired at the end of your session.

Rates.

What are your Rates?

My standard rate is $200/hr and I  require a $100 non-refundable deposit per anticipated session at the time of booking, which will go toward the total cost of your tattoo. However, due to the slower more organic design nature of traditionally inspired tattoos, I will frequently provide a “fixed” rate pricing, or pricing window. This helps us plan for large scale or multi-day appointments, and allows us to move at a pace that feels comfortable without the stress of a fluctuating price.

Should I tip/are tips standard?

Tipping in the tattoo industry is similar to any other customer service based industry. It is standard to tip anywhere from 10%-20%, but is never required nor expected. Most tattoo artists pay anywhere from 30%-50% of their hourly rate to the shop they work in, and are responsible for supplying their own inks, needles, and tattoo machine supplies. 100% of tips go to the artist and are a great way to show your appreciation for the art and experience your artist gives you. Other offerings such as trades for service and personalized gifts are always appreciated as well!
